telc Deutsch C1 tests general German language skills at a very advanced level. The exam is aimed at adults who need German in their social and professional life or at university. If you pass the exam successfully, you will receive an official and internationally recognized certificate from telc.

What can you do at level C1?
You can express yourself spontaneously and fluently. You are familiar with colloquial expressions and can vary the style of language. They maintain a high degree of grammatical correctness.

How is the exam structured?
The examination consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts 3 hours and 40 minutes (including a 20-minute break). You have 20 minutes to prepare before the oral examination. The oral examination can take place on the day of the written examination or on another day.

Can I repeat the exam?
Yes. You can repeat the exam as often as you like. If you have already passed part of the examination (oral or written), you can also take only the remaining part of the examination with us.

How and where can I register?
You can register online or on site.

How much is the examination fee?
The examination fee is €220.

When do I have to be at the examination center IEC – International Education Centers be there?
Please arrive at our test center at least 30 to 45 minutes before the start of the test.

What do I need to bring to the exam?
You should have a valid identity card or passport with you.

How can I best prepare best prepare for the exam?
We offer various preparation courses for the telc exams. Please ask at our test center for a suitable preparation for you. We will help you further!

When will I receive my telc certificate?
The evaluation can take 4 to 6 weeks. The exams are assessed at the telc headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. As soon as we, the examination center, have the results, we will inform you immediately. You can then collect your certificate on presentation of your identity card.

Can I receive my certificate by post?
Yes. Shipping is of course possible. However, shipping by post must be paid for on the day of the test. It costs €10 in Germany and €20 in other EU countries. Outside the EU we send the certificates for security reasons with DHL Express shipping for a fee of 80,- €.

Can someone other than me collect my certificate?
With an original signed power of attorney and a copy of your identity card, the certificate can also be collected by another person. Please remember that the person collecting the ticket must also have their identity card or passport with them.

How long is my language certificate valid for?
Your language certificate will be valid indefinitely.
