The integration course for second-language learners is a special educational measure aimed at making it easier for migrants who are familiar with a non-Latin writing system to make the transition to learning the Latin alphabet and the German language. This course is ideal for people who can already read and write, but in a writing system other than Latin.

Course overview

  • Target group: The course is aimed at immigrants who have been literate in a non-Latin writing system and now need to learn the Latin alphabet in order to learn German.
  • Course content: The course begins with learning the Latin alphabet. This is followed by an intensive language course that takes participants up to language level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • Course duration: The integration course comprises up to 1,000 teaching units (UE), with the language course comprising up to 900 UE and the orientation course 100 UE.
  • Subject areas: In addition to language training, the course deals with important topics such as politics in democracy, history and responsibility as well as people and society.
  • Completion: The course concludes with the examinations “Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer” (DTZ) and “Leben in Deutschland” (LiD).

  • Turn left onto Carnaper Straße.
